Terms & conditions

These terms explain how we work together when you book Lewisham Removals for a removal or storage. They’re written to be clear, not clever. When you confirm a booking, you’re agreeing to them.

Quotes

A quote is based on what you tell us about your move — the type of place, the access, any storage or packing, and the addresses. If the job turns out to be materially different on the day, we may need to adjust it, and we’ll speak to you before we do. A written quote is valid for thirty days from its date unless we say otherwise.

Booking & deposit

Your move is confirmed once you accept the quote and pay any deposit we ask for. If you cancel, a deposit is refundable in full where you cancel at least fourteen days before the booked date; nearer than that, we may keep some or all of it to cover work already arranged.

Your responsibilities

• Make sure we can access both properties, including any lifts, loading bays, parking or permits.
• Tell us in advance about anything heavy, fragile, hazardous or unusually valuable.
• Empty and prepare appliances, and take down anything we haven’t agreed to dismantle.
• Check nothing is left behind before we leave each address.

Items we don’t carry

For everyone’s safety we don’t move hazardous or illegal goods, perishable food, or live plants and animals. If you’re not sure whether something’s fine to move, just ask.

Liability & claims

We take great care with your belongings and carry appropriate goods-in-transit and storage cover. If something is lost or damaged while in our care, tell us as soon as you can and confirm it in writing within seven days of delivery so we can put it right. We aren’t responsible for damage to items you packed yourself where the packing was the cause, or for pre-existing wear.

Storage

Where we store your belongings, the storage continues until you ask us to release them and any charges due have been settled. We’ll agree the arrangement with you when you book.

Payment

Payment is due as set out on your quote or invoice, and no later than seven days after the work is completed unless we’ve agreed different terms with you in writing. Stored goods are released once the account is clear.
